The present disclosure provides an asymmetric fused aromatic ring derivative containing sulfonyl group. The asymmetric fused aromatic ring derivative containing sulfonyl group includes a structure represented by formula (I), in which each symbol is as defined in the specification. Thus, the asymmetric fused aromatic ring derivative containing sulfonyl group of the present disclosure has the photocatalytic activity, which can be used as a photocatalyst and applied to a hydrogen production device.
