A computational display and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The computational display includes a temporal filtering module, a decomposition calculating module and a display module. The temporal filtering module is used to perform temporal filtering module on light field frames of an initial dynamic light field video to obtain a filtered light field frame. The decomposition calculating module is coupled to the temporal filtering module and used to apply a decomposition algorithm to decompose the filtered light field frame into decomposed frames, wherein the frame rate of the decomposed frames is larger than the frame rate of the light field frames. The display module includes multi-layer display units and used to display the decomposed frames at multiple observation times to be observed as a result dynamic light field video.
